Reconciliation
Our Year 3 children are invited to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (First Confession) in March 2025.
In preparation for this next step in their faith journey, the children will complete ‘Heart Speaks to Heart: the Gift of Reconciliation’ in school in the weeks leading up to this – all children will take part in these lessons as part of our RE curriculum. This is a resource designed by the Leeds Diocese to explain the First Sacraments in an engaging way, using charming stories and fun activities.

First Holy Communion
Our Year 4 children are invited to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion in June 2025.
In preparation for this next step in their faith journey, the children will need to complete ‘Heart Speaks to Heart: the Gift of Holy Communion’. This is a resource designed by the Leeds Diocese to explain the First Sacraments in an engaging way, using charming stories and fun activities. This is in addition to the RE curriculum for Year 4 so there will be 5 after-school sessions in order to complete the programme. The sessions will take place on Tuesdays from 3.30 - 4.30pm starting after Easter on the 29th April 2025 and will continue weekly until the 3rd June 2025.

Confirmation
Our Year 6 children have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during the Autumn term. This special mass, led by Bishop Marcus, will take place on Wednesday 18th December at 7pm at Leeds Cathedral.
There will be a series of lessons in school based on the Year 6 RE curriculum and additional resources from the Diocese of Leeds.
The children will need a prayer sponsor for their Confirmation, who will sit with them during the mass and stand with them whilst they are confirmed.
